Christy White
Principal


Christy White HeadshotAs Chief of Cogent Research® Operations (CCO), Christy White oversees the company's wide range of research activities, ensuring adherence to stringent organizational standards for excellence and a commitment to the use of powerful and advanced analytics. Perhaps her greatest strength, however, is Christy's unique ability to see, through data, business strategies and market opportunities that can propel a product or a brand to achieve unprecedented success.

A powerhouse of tenacity, energy and curiosity that, in many ways has come to define the Cogent Research personality, Christy's work ethic, commitment to perfection, and ability to mentor new staff are legendary.

Christy has been practicing her craft for 20 years, since graduating from the Boston University School of Management with a degree in business administration and marketing research.  She has been a keynote speaker at the international and national level to audiences ranging from business professionals to university, government, and regulatory officials.  She has also lectured on research methods at both Harvard and Boston University.  

John Meunier
Principal

John Meunier HeadshotAs Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), John Meunier is the company visionary and has led the effort to define Cogent's mission, and to shape and craft how we communicate our brand to the outside world. His propensity to challenge convention, and to reach beyond the obvious, has served Cogent's clients extremely well over the years as they develop new products and services in an ever-increasing environment of change.  

By identifying opportunities for new and better ways to look at a problem, John inspires others within Cogent to constantly push themselves to deliver better insights, and more thoughtful and thorough analysis.   

Ten years in politics and government preceded John’s career in research.  He is a graduate of UMass Amherst and the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard.  He has presented to numerous industry associations and is a frequent conference panelist and speaker on topics ranging from research methods to client industry best practices.


Antonio Ferreira
Managing Director


Antonio Ferreira Headshot Tony leads the Wealth Management & Consulting Practice where he consults with industry leading asset managers, distributors, insurance companies, and investment advisory firms. Tony has initiated, managed, and delivered strategic research on product development, customer satisfaction, branding, pricing, and segmentation for over 20 years. His in-depth experience as an internal research director and external consultant allows him to select and develop the most actionable research techniques for use in critical decision-making.

Before Cogent, Tony held research director, vice president of research, and senior analytical roles at Sun Life Financial, MFS Investment Management, Harvard Pilgrim HealthCare, and Abt Associates. He has directed advisor and investor research on several financial products including mutual funds, 401(k)/403(b) plans, separately managed accounts, institutional separate accounts, 529 plans, EIAs, IRAs, and multi-manager variable annuities.


Tony holds an MBA degree, with a concentration in marketing, from the Suffolk University Sawyer School of Management, where he graduated with honors. Tony is an NASD registered representative and holds Series 26 and Series 6 licenses. He is a past member of the ICI Research Committee and LIMRA's Market Research Committee. Tony has been a speaker at many industry conferences including Center For Due Diligence (CFDD), FRA's Retirement Income Conference, FRA's Rollover Summit, DST/BFDS Retirement Leadership Forum, and other wealth management industry events. He has been published in many industry periodicals including Research Magazine, Registered Rep, National Underwriter, and Life & Health Agent.


Marie Rice

Director of Custom Research

Marie Rice Headshot

Marie Rice joined Cogent Research in the summer of 2011 as the Director of the Custom Research practice, including the wealth and health segments. Marie has 25 years of experience in market research and 10 years in the financial industry.


Before joining Cogent Research, Rice was Corporate Vice President and Director of Retirement Research at LIMRA, where she led the organization's wealth management and retirement-focused research initiatives. Prior to LIMRA, she was Vice President of Market Insights for Fidelity Investments Workplace Investing, where she conducted product, employer, and participant research.  She also owned her own business and research consulting practice for 10 years.


Marie has a Masters in Public Health from Yale University and a B.S. in Nutritional Sciences from University of Connecticut.

 

Linda York

Director of Syndicated Research

Linda York has over 20 years of experience in financial services spanning responsibilities in finance, marketing and business strategy. Linda joined Cogent Research from Upromise Investments, where she served as Director, Analytics and Business Development and had overall responsibility for the strategic development, execution, and measurement of 529 marketing initiatives for state clients and partners. 


Prior to Upromise Investments, Linda was Vice President of External Relations for the Fidelity Research Institute, a solutions-oriented thought leadership research organization funded by Fidelity Investments. During her 11-year career with Fidelity, Linda was Vice President and Market Manager with Fidelity Investments Tax-Exempt Services Company, where she provided strategic leadership and overall market management for the Higher Education sector. Linda also spent several years with Fidelity Institutional Retirement Services Company, providing strategic marketing support for Fidelity's corporate retirement business.


Linda began her career in financial services with Travelers Insurance Company, where she held marketing, product development, client service and finance positions in the Financial Services and Group Pensions divisions.


She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics from Mount Holyoke College and an MBA in Marketing from the University of Connecticut.
