Sr Product Director - Syndicated

Position Title: Senior Product Director, Syndicated Research


Reports To: Managing Director


Position Overview:

The purpose of this position is to manage the product development and execution process for assigned products in the investment research space and deliver syndicated offerings that will drive both revenue generation and client satisfaction and meet Cogent's business and profitability objectives.


The Sr. Product Director is responsible for product development and improvement, research interpretation, report writing and data presentation as well as supporting Cogent's position as a thought leader via speaking engagements and media attention. The Sr. Product Director also plays a key role in building and maintaining client relationships.


Detailed Responsibilities:

Industry Thought Leadership
  • Maintain cutting-edge knowledge of industry news and trends to add value to pour product line and build Cogent's reputation as a respected industry voice.
  • Deliver in-person presentations to prospects and clients and secure speaking engagements at industry conferences and events to support the sales process.
  • Condense findings into succinct and salient points for communication via sales materials, press releases and email communication as part of Cogent's integrated marketing communications program.
  • Work with marketing/sales team to generate media attention through quote placement and article publication in industry journals. 

Product Development 

  • Identify opportunities to improve Cogent's existing products and services based on client needs, market conditions and industry insights.
  • Actively participate in all products expansion activities design, execution, delivery and marketing of new offerings.

Product Execution

  • Oversee research and product execution process for assigned products. Ensure research instruments are on target and final products deliver relevant and strategic insights.
  • Analyze data sets, interpret research findings and summarize recommendations in formats ranging from PowerPoint decks to white papers to in-depth commentary.
  • Leverage industry knowledge to extract key insights and recommendations that will directly support our clients' marketing and distribution strategies.
  • Interact closely with a team of data analysts, project managers, subject matter experts and others in moving products through to completion.

Qualifications:

Skills and Experience

  • 10+ years of market research experience with deep financial services knowledge highly preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge and subject matter expertise in product regulations, legislative implications, and competitive trends for assigned product disciplines.
  • Knowledge of marketing research methodologies and experience managing life-cycle projects.
  • Exceptional analytical skills and the proven ability to translate data into action items and strategic recommendations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to draft and deliver compelling reports, presentations and communications.
  • Excellent networking and interpersonal skills and the demonstrated ability to build relationships across all levels of an organization.
  • Aptitude for creative thinking and the ability to think and act independently with sound business judgment.
  • Advance knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Education

  • Master’s degree in business, marketing or research is strongly preferred.

Travel

  • Overnight travel to client sites, conferences and industry events is required.
